Well, I gave in and tried it. Putting a handful of Kale Nero into my smoothie. It was ok but I prefer to have my kale either crisped up like chips in the oven or steamed. I feel like I have little bits of kale in my teeth and they were quite chewy even though they got shredded up finely.
Not bad but certainly not something I plan to add to my smoothies in the future.
My current favorite smoothie…..1 scoop whey protein powder, 1 tsp chia seeds, 1/2 c frozen berries, a peach and a water. It gives me nearly 20 grams of protein and keeps me satisfied for several hours – actually sometimes until lunch.
